We’re looking for a Director of Engineering who is ready to take on the challenge of a leading role in our growing engineering team. You’ll be managing our engineering team and have the responsibility for building out our cloud-only products that are built on the MEAN stack.

In cooperation with product management and your team, you will plan out the right architecture and approach to achieve our ambitious goals. You will provide technical information and guidance to the rest of the organization on how to best build out the products. The right candidate shines with their ability to meet deadlines, define timetables, balance multiple priorities, and manage projects to completion. You are following the ideology that product velocity and quality go hand in hand - you don’t sacrifice one for the other.

What you’ll do

  • Review Designs and Architecture with attention to detail and produce flexible and scalable software architecture and design
  • Be the main focal point for the teams business delivery, product quality, product delivery, performance and availability goals
  • Define technology vision and strategy and create an operational roadmap for development and QA engineers
  • Work with DevOps team-members to ensure continued stability and performance
  • Set team objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance of team members
  • Work with the Product Managers to ensure higher team productivity through proper estimation and planning
  • Coordinate with the rest of the organization and evaluate project requirements, priorities and ensure readiness of projects before development starts
  • Work with the leadership team to map out long term goals and roadmaps
  • Develop, coach and mentor the developers in your team on personal and technical skills
  • Hire new members of the team
  • Help mature staging, testing and deployment systems to automate boring tasks

What we’re looking for

  • 4+ years experience in a technical leadership role, preferably in the areas of advanced and emerging technologies, where you have consistently demonstrated outstanding performance
  • Experience in a large tech org or an early stage startup that experienced significant growth
  • Software engineer and/or architect background
  • Experience with Web Applications running on various Frameworks. Skills needed: Java, JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, Node.js, Angular
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Understanding of DevOps, QA and test automation
  • AWS certification or experience is a plus
  • Track record of building successful products and platforms
  • Excellent written and oral/presentation as well as interpersonal skills
  • Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
  • Experience with hiring and employee feedback cycles
